Over 80,000 patriots came together May 19-22 in Louisville, Kentucky to celebrate Freedom, Firearms and Fellowship at the 145th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits. A key part of the Annual Meeting is Youth Day. This year, Youth Day occurred on May 22. For the second year running, Revere’s Riders provided volunteer support to this important event which allows children and their families to safely learn about the shooting sports.
Fourteen Revere’s Riders volunteers worked with approximately 300 youth attendees at this event. Revere’s Riders volunteers ran the Air Soft marksmanship range, helped kids learning about hunting and the outdoors by identifying animals from their fur and tracks, and ran activities for the youngest children such as face painting and coloring.
To bring our own “American History” flavor to the event, Paul Revere himself (or at least, a life size replica!) made an appearance, allowing for some fun photo ops with kids and adults alike!
We are very thankful to several key supporters that made this event possible:
- The NRA for providing volunteers with t-shirts, apparel, food, and other logistical support, as well as for hosting this great event
- The Revere’s Riders volunteers who travelled from around the nation—as far away as Idaho—to support this event
- Private donors who provided financial support for the crew and materials
