This weekend, we reflect on the powerful ideals articulated in 1776 in our Declaration of Independence. These familiar key words and phrases—Creator, Life, Liberty, Happiness, Safety and Happiness—have rung through our nation’s history, providing a guiding beacon through the generations. They are, in short, a vision, handed down from generation to generation to keep America on course.
Revere’s Riders also has a vision:
Every American Choosing Liberty—Every Day
Our vision statement, adopted by the board and officers, serves as our compass as a public charitable organization, a way to keep us on track. Only six words, it sounds simple, doesn’t it? But packed into those words are a lot of important ideas.
- When we refer to Every American, we recognize the concept of individuals fully belonging to a free community where they share in equal rights and responsibilities.
- Next, we encourage those Americans to proactively Choose Liberty. We embrace the representation of the ancient idea of responsible citizens acting wisely without need for external restraints.
- Finally, we ask Americans to choose liberty Every Day, because small choices snowball and create meaningful changes over time.
That is the future we are working towards. The America we want to see. Join us on the road.
